SOUTHERN URUGUAY PROJECTS

PASO DE LUGO


Project Description: This project is located 225 kilometres northwest of Montevideo in the Arroyo Grande Belt and covers an area of 20,363 hectares.

Geology: The geology consists of intrusive units ranging from felsic to ultramafic rock types and associated volcanic rocks. The ultramafic to mafic, intrusive to extrusive rocks range in composition from dunites and pyroxenites, to periodititic and basaltic komatiites. The felsic and an intermediate rocks are comprised of granite to dacites and tonalites. These rocks occupy an elongate northwest trending zone within a volcano-sedimentary sequence.

Exploration Results: Exploration at Paso de Lugo will commence in the second quarter of calendar year 2008. Results will be reported as they become available. 

Planned Activities: During calendar year 2008, UME expects to complete detailed mapping and sampling of the project area.
