SOUTHERN URUGUAY PROJECTS
ISLA PATRULLA DISTRICT
District Description: This district includes the Isla Patrulla, Texas, Volcadero and Bragado prospects and covers a total area of 15,807 hectares in the Dom Feliciano Belt, at a distance of 350 kilometres northeast of Montevideo.
Geology: Proterozoic granites, quartzite and meta-sediments have been mapped in the Isla Patrulla district. Mapping and rock-chip sampling has confirmed the presence of mineralized quartz veins.
Exploration Results: Exploration results have identified several mineralized veins in the region for further work in 2008. A summary of the historical and current results to date for the district is presented below.
Planned Activities: During calendar year 2008, UME expects to complete additional IP surveys, soil sampling and trenching at Isla Patrulla. Further mapping, sampling and a drill program is also expected to be carried out at Texas. Preliminary drilling is in progress at Volcadero. No further gold exploration is planned at Bragado.
